The Community Clinics Initiative Networking for Community Health Grant Awards (Winter 2007 - 2008)

We are pleased to announce the grant awards for the Networking for Community Health program from the Community Clinics Initiative, a joint project of Tides and The California Endowment. This marks the eleventh round of funding from CCI. In this round CCI was able to fund 26 clinics for grants totaling $4,400,000.00. We were very impressed and excited by the efforts of clinics in California to be true Centers for Community Health.

California's community clinics have come quite a distance from the days of Y2K, when Tides and The California Endowment first began this partnership. It has been a pleasure for all of us at CCI to see the amazing strides you and your colleagues have taken to integrate Information Technology into your work, and to undertake significant capital expansion projects. You have taken risks and tried new ways of doing business. It has been difficult work at times, but you have repeatedly demonstrated your creativity and your resiliency. It's that spirit that makes California's community clinics and health centers extraordinary. This RFP built on the work we have done together in the past, but it also presented you with an opportunity to think creatively and explore new opportunities to be a voice for social justice and promote the health of your community.

Sincerely,
